Rosemary Beach Partners with Dune Doctors to Achieve Coastal Resiliency

The community of Rosemary Beach, located along Scenic Highway 30A in Walton County, Florida, has partnered with Dune Doctors to preserve and maintain their native coastal landscape. Over the past few months, our coastal restoration experts helped Rosemary Beach extend their sustainability initiatives to their protective dunes.

To strengthen their resiliency against coastal storm surges, we first revitalized their existing vegetation by removing debris and invasive plants. After, we fertilized their dune with a coastal-specific, custom-blended, slow-release fertilizer. Before the start of Turtle Nesting Season, our team installed sand fences and 22,788 native plants to initiate new lines of defense across the expanse of Rosemary Beach. Finally, Rosemary Beach has committed to the long-term resiliency of their protective dunes by enlisting Dune Doctors to maintain their native coastal landscape.
